Grace, poise and balance will become more developed. Students learn self-discipline, an ability to focus on goals, and a capacity to work cooperatively with others.

In Level 2, pointe work is introduced to most students, subject to teachers’ approval only.

The Men’s Program syllabus focuses on the needs and skills specific to young male dancers. Beginning in Pre-Ballet, boys learn the fundamental exercises that allow them to develop strength, poise and discipline. DCTVS Academy Principal Arsen Serobian teaches partnering and technique. Students must be on time to each class. If tardy, proper ballet etiquette requires standing in the doorway until the teacher invites the child to join the class. Parents and guardians of younger students (under 7 years old) are expected to wait in the lounge area until class is complete. Teachers and staff are not responsible for taking students to the restroom. While parents are not generally allowed into classrooms, on certain occasions, they may visit a class with special permission from the teacher.
